Magdeburg, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt is located on the Elbe River, it likes to call itself the "Otto city" because it had two famous "Otto". Firstly, Otto I, who founded the archbishopric of Magdeburg and Otto von Guericke, the inventor of the air pump and mayor of the city. Landmarks are the Magdeburg Cathedral, the Gruson greenhouses, the Hundertwasser House and the Elbauenpark.
