Wittenberge

The industrial city of Wittenberge is located exactly halfway between Berlin and Hamburg, in the Prignitz along the Elbe. One should walk in the old city of Wittenberge, built in the shape of a boat, and also see the town hall built in sandstone in 1912, and the second highest clock tower in Europe, emblem of the city which is visible from afar. At the Elbe front you will find the "Kranhaus"and a former oil mill near the port, an inviting place to stroll. Some residents of Wittenberge hope that their city will one day accommodate the containers of Hamburg and also serve for loading and unloading those containers. The port has already been modified to this end, it is now only waiting for the containers...
