Schwerin Castle

Schwerin, capital of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is the oldest city in northern Germany. Until 1918, Schwerin was one of the main residences of the dukes and grand dukes of Mecklenburg. One of the symbols of this city is the Schwerin Castle (Schweriner Schloss), built on its own island. From a distance, one can also see the Cathedral of Schwerin (Schweriner Dom), which is located in the beautiful old town.
